Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026 · Applies to unsfleet.com, app.unsfleet.com, admin.unsfleet.com and the UNS Driver, UNS Dispatcher, UNS Fleet and UNS Cars Driver apps for iOS and Android.
In short: we collect only what is needed to run the service for trucking companies and their drivers. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads. A driver's account belongs to the driver, and he can delete it at any time inside the app.
Who we are
UNS Fleet ("UNS", "we") provides software for trucking companies (UNS Fleet), dispatchers (UNS Dispatcher) and drivers (UNS Driver). Contact: [email protected] · Peninsula, Ohio, USA.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number and password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider).
- Driver profile: CDL class and expiration, medical card expiration, endorsements, years of experience and home city — only what you choose to enter.
- Documents and photos you upload: CDL, medical card and other documents; BOL, POD, receipts and scale tickets; settlement statements.
- Work records: loads assigned to you (pickup and delivery places and times, miles, pay, status updates and stop times you record), vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) you sign, and the companies you work with.
- Driver Passport: if you use it, the work history (employers, dates, positions) you enter, and your choices about which company may see which document.
- Chat messages: messages and photos you exchange with your company's dispatchers inside the app. If you tap "Translate", the text of that message is sent to our AI provider for translation only.
- Location (UNS Driver only, with your permission): see Location sharing below.
- Company information: for company accounts, the USDOT and MC numbers and public FMCSA registration data used to verify the company.
- Technical data: basic logs needed to keep the service secure and working (for example, sign-in times, device model and app version when you contact support, and error reports).
Location sharing (UNS Driver)
UNS Driver can share your truck's location with the company whose load you are carrying. This is off until you turn it on in the app (Loads → Location sharing), and you can turn it off at any time.
- When: only while you have an accepted, at-pickup or in-transit load. Sharing stops by itself when the load is delivered or cancelled, and when you have no active load. It does not run when you are off duty or between loads.
- How often: about one position every 3 minutes or 500 meters (0.3 mi), including while the phone is locked if you allow "Always" location. Your phone shows the system location indicator while it is on.
- Who sees it: the company that assigned the load (its dispatchers and office staff), on their map and in reports such as detention and fuel-tax mileage. If the company shares a tracking link with its customer, the customer sees only the truck's approximate area and an estimated arrival time, not your exact position or history.
- Stop times: when you tap "Arrived", "Loaded", "Left" or "Delivered", the time and, if allowed, the location of that tap are saved with the load as proof for detention and delivery. Inspection reports may also record where they were signed.
- Retention: location history is kept with the company's load records; the latest position is removed when sharing stops. It is never sold, used for advertising or shared with other companies.
SMS and mobile information
We use your phone number only to send one-time verification codes, account-security messages and the work messages you ask for (for example, from your company's dispatch line). No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We share phone numbers only with the SMS delivery provider that sends our messages on our behalf.
Reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time; reply HELP for help. See also our SMS consent page.
Camera and photos
The apps ask for camera and photo access only when you choose to photograph or attach a document, an inspection defect or a chat photo. Photos are reduced in size on your phone before upload and are stored in private storage. The apps do not use the microphone.
How we use information
- To run your account and show you your loads, documents and pay.
- To let companies you work with see the loads and load documents for their freight, and — only if you choose to share — your profile and documents.
- To verify companies with FMCSA data and to send sign-in, verification and account emails or text messages.
- To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and fix problems.
Who can see your information
- Companies: a company sees only its own data. A company you drive for sees the loads it assigned to you and the BOL/POD/receipts you upload for those loads. Your personal documents are shared only while you allow it, and you can stop sharing at any time.
- Other companies never see your loads, pay or documents from another company.
- Service providers that host and run the service for us: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in, United States), Cloudflare (website hosting and email routing), Resend (email), Telnyx (company phone calls and text messages, for company staff only), Expo and Apple/Google (app delivery) and Anthropic (AI used for chat translation and for reading documents a company uploads). They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Law: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of people.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access is controlled in the database itself, so each account and company can read only the records it is allowed to. Files are kept in private storage and opened through short-lived links.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When a driver deletes his account, his profile, personal documents and statements are deleted. Companies keep their own business records of loads you delivered and the load documents for their freight, without your name attached, as they may need them for billing, tax and legal reasons.
Your choices and rights
- View and edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Stop sharing your documents with a company, or leave a company, at any time.
- Turn location sharing off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings. The app keeps working without it; your company will see that location is off.
- Delete your account inside the UNS Driver app: Profile → Delete my account. You can also ask us by email — see unsfleet.com/delete-account.
- Ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it: [email protected].
Children
UNS is a business service for adults working in trucking. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell account holders in the app or by email.
